Maywood Park

Maywood Park Racetrack was a half-mile harness racing track in Maywood, Illinois that hosted harness racing for most of the year, interrupted only by occasional breaks in the racing schedule. The track was located about 10 miles south of O'Hare International Airport and approximately 17 miles from the Chicago Loop.

Maywood Park ultimately ceased operations on January 31, 2015, after running its final race program. The closure occurred when its parent company, Churchill Downs Incorporated, decided to exit the Illinois harness racing market following years of declining attendance, competition from casinos in neighboring states, and ongoing financial challenges in the local racing industry. After the final meet concluded, the property was sold to a real estate developer and the racetrack facilities were demolished to make way for an industrial warehouse complex.
